Description of the problem being solved:

This adds pobarchives.com to the build providers export/import list. I remember LocalIdentity suggesting me to add archives to the list few years back, which I was planning to, alas the unfortunate public builds integration incident went live first and this never had a chance to be there afterwards.

The reason I'm adding it now is that for the last few months I've redesigned the site and infrastructure completely, and I see exiles going out of their way to use "Add builds" button on the site, which means they like the layout, ease of use and all the features.

I know every provider on that list should be a site that is being maintained as well. My current maintenance pipeline has:

  • Asset refresh and merge from the CDN is automated, and gets checked every 6 hours. Assets on the site will be up to date before even PoB has the new leagues (and minor patches) release. Every new patch gets their artwork, skill tree, gems, items, league name etc committed and deployed as a chore when the pipeline discovers a new patch without me having to manually update it. If PoB needs a similar action I can work on a PR for that too.
  • The things that need maintanence are additions to the PoB, such as bloodlines, mercenaries etc. These cannot ever break the import/export API and will be accepted as long as xml has a valid format. So no worries about returning an error when something changes on the PoB. Only work needs done is adding them to the layout.
  • In case of an unusual issue that does happen, I receive daily reports on errors, infrastructure health and so on. I'm also watching the PoB releases, so new features will be implemented in a day or two given the current age of coding agents. Needless to say this addition will also motivate me to work more on the site and help PoB development, so I will probably get the new features ready as soon as it hits PoB beta release.

What site currently has for users, especially quality of life features for console players:

  • Clicking on an item, gem, or jewel opens a sheet for trade. It has min/max/same, league, platform settings to quickly adjust parameters before opening poe trade site.
  • Clicking on a rare item allows exiles to import item to the crafting planner. Planner can solve how an item is crafted and prepares an easy to follow guide with steps, or they can plan the steps manually. They can also open the crafting playground to use the in game methods for crafting it, get warmed up etc. I think this will help new players break the fear of crafting, which I find the most fun thing in the game, and experienced players can share their guides easily. Engine is written in rust, it took a really long time to get here (had a wip branch for the engine I worked on last year, been working on it for the past few months to finish up). After spending some time on it the details and easter eggs should give away how much work is in there.
  • Creators can link crafting guides to the exported build pages. Expected cost of guides are calculated daily on prices from poeninja. So a guide from two leagues back gets the cost of the current league.
  • Builds display minimum budget breakdown including uniques and gems, cached daily.
  • Passive trees are identical to the game, low-res to make it load faster.
  • Gems have quest/vendor reward hints, as well as filters to highlight which ones to buy/get on which Act while leveling. Clicking one opens the trade link sheet.
  • Bloodlines, ascendancy, pantheons, runegrafts, bandits and PoB stats are all in there. Loadouts are also supported.
  • Similar builds list are live and calculated initially on export time with match scores, so exiles can get inspiration from closely matched builds across 50k builds currently archived.
  • Exporting a build doesn't index it on the site, since only builds with videos are indexed. They get a shortlink and a dedicated page.
  • Site has minimal amount of ads to keep it running with current fast infrastructure. I can remove the ads completely from builds that are exported from the PoB if you want. Rest of the site should cover the costs.

As you know, archives has been there for 3 years now, hand built before AI was there. I'm on a mission to preserve our build history, it has ~10 years of builds, and I take this project very seriously. The public outrage I received when we released the public/similar builds integration gave me boneshatter of complex trauma which eventually made me quit for a while, but it's all good now. I feel like I'm the Piety of tool devs nonetheless. Being a provider on that list feels natural to what the site is all about, and I would appreciate the honour if you welcome me again and the offer still exists. I think I can provide a solid alternative as a build site, and this will only motivate me to provide an even better service. I also want to contribute to PoB development as much as I can, be it new league to do list or bug fixes.

Site also supports PoB 2, which I will add a PR there as well.

Steps taken to verify a working solution:

- Import: https://pobarchives.com/build/{id} links, raw code at /build/{id}/raw
- Export: POST the code to /api/pob/export, the response is the share link
